Growing up the whole neighborhood seemed to play music. We had  parties all summer long and sang folk and bluegrass music. I got my first Guitar at fourteen and immediately abandoned my roots and started playing hard rock, then settled in to more Neil Young, Dylan, Dead sort of stuff. My songwriting is pretty straightforward. Why waste time right? Get to the point. YEEEEE HAAAAW!!!
Not wanting to join the school band yet forced at gunpoint to play an instrument at a young age, Chad defiantly said "okay, banjo!" After a lengthy flirtation with the guitar, he eventually stumbled across the dobro.
I wasn't forced to do anything; I begged for a guitar for years. Someone I know died and I got his Mandolin. Decided to form a string band. The End.
From the time I was a toddler watching my father and neighbor working on a '46 Chevy truck, drinking beer and listening to Bluegrass, till now,
in my own garage working on cars, drinking beer, listening to Bluegrass, Bluegrass has been an integral part of my life-and I like the bass.
